General Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of the Museums IT network infrastructure and requires support for all endpoint hardware, software applications, operating systems, databases, images, websites, storage, and backup systems. This is a jack-of-all-trades positon that requires a motivated self-starter that can work with minimal direction, and yet has the ability to perform tasks or projects as directed.

Specific Responsibilities:

•   Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
•   Maintain system efficiency

•   Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together

•   Maintain and monitor all servers and networking equipment such as switches, routers, and access points

•   Troubleshoot problems reported by users

•   Identify user needs

•   Analyze and isolate issues

•   Support all endpoint devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets/smartphones, gallery kiosks and printers/fax/copy

•     Assist with security access control and video surveillance systems

•   Software deployment, security updates, drivers and patches

•   Research, analyze, recommend, and implement technology based solutions


•   Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years, hands on, solid IT experience

•   Working knowledge of Windows Server environment such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and NTFS/Share

•   Working knowledge of Exchange

•   Working knowledge of virtualization infrastructure such as VMware/Hyper-V

•   Working knowledge of Cisco hardware, configurations, and protocols

•   Working knowledge of Wireless networks, VLANS, and RADIUS authentication

•   Working knowledge SQL and Database applications

•   Ability to assist with Website support, WordPress, HTML, FTP clients, and photo editing software

•   Ability to create custom patch cables, use punch down tools for keystone jacks/patch panels, and network toners

•   Ability to learn older, current, and new technologies and actively applying such knowledge

•   Ability to work closely with manger and also maintain a professional and positive relationship with all staff

•   Ability to lift 50+lbs. and to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time

•   Must have a strong desire to learn, grow, and be successful in the field of Information Technology

•   Must be able to prioritize daily task and projects efficiently while completing in a timely manner

•   Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision

•   This positon is 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, and the hours are 8:00am-5:00pm

•   **Must be able to work some evening and weekend hours, special events, and participate in on staff rotation**
