Cultural Summit and OMA District Meetings Planned for March

Posted by OMA on 02/17/2010

With funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoma Museums Association are developing a statewide Cultural Heritage Preservation Plan for Oklahoma's museums, libraries, and archives. The purpose of the plan is to help support and strengthen Oklahoma museums and libraries, with an emphasis on increased public awareness, improved collections care, and greater funding.

Phase I of the planning process took place during 2009, at which time input from stakeholders was collected through a statewide survey and at six regional Cultural Summit meetings.

Stakeholder input was organized into a few key initiatives that are now compiled into the Phase II Survey.  The purpose of the Phase II Survey is to seek your help in prioritizing the proposed actions and further refine how the action items might be implemented. Who should be involved? Who has resources to contribute? Is someone already addressing the proposed action? Are there proposed solutions you wish to add to the list?  Can you help implement some of the initiatives?
