Oklahoma Museums Association to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Statewide hidden ticket giveaway starts in January

The Oklahoma Museums Association kicks-off its 40th anniversary celebration in January with a statewide contest showcasing Oklahoma's museums and cultural organizations. The OMA will conduct a hidden ticket giveaway with a new secret location hiding four free tickets to one of Oklahoma's 500-plus museums, historic sites, zoos and botanical gardens or historic houses each month throughout 2012.

Members of the public are invited to visit the OMA Facebook page for clues to find the free tickets. Each month a new location will hide the tickets and new clues will be posted until the tickets have been found. To win, participants must decode the clues, visit the participating museum's welcome desk or admission area and mention "Happy 40th Anniversary Oklahoma Museums Association” to claim the prize. Prizes include a four pack of tickets to a family-friendly attraction in Oklahoma.

"We are so excited to celebrate our 40th anniversary and get everyone around the state involved in the excitement," said Brenda Granger, executive director of the OMA. "We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful museums in our state and we encourage families to get out and enjoy all they each have to offer."

The giveaway prize for the month of January is four free tickets to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Winners will be able to visit the 3.3 acre Outdoor Symbolic Memorial and the Memorial Museum. The Memorial Museum is highly interactive and tells the story of what happened on April 19, 1995 from the point-of-view of investigators, rescuers, survivors and family members who lost loved ones.
