The Oklahoma Museums Association is one of the most active state museum associations in the country and one of only ten with full-time paid staff. OMA has over 480 individual, institutional and corporate members. The OMA office is located in the Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Museums Association was selected by the Oklahoma Heritage Association to receive the 2007 Edward L. & Thelma Gaylord Oklahoma Territory Award for Preservation of State and Local History. OMA appreciates being selected to receive the prestigious honor.
