Arts and culture organizations and their leaders have important roles in their community. These nonprofit leaders help develop and market the community, serve residents of all ages and steward the current culture and community history.
Many elected positions will be on the ballot in 2018. This webinar will look at how nonprofit organizations can participate legally and ethically to be sure new potential elected officials understand the value of arts and culture in their community.
In partnership with the Oklahomans for the Arts and the Oklahoma Museums Association, this FREE webinar will examine ways nonprofit leaders can engage with candidates. This includes how to host candidate forums, issue surveys or other allowable connections with candidates for local and state office.
Special Guest: Norman Hammond, chair of The Norman Arts Roundtable, will discuss their long-time forums for elected officials that includes state legislature and city council members. Hammond also helped lead candidate forums and advocacy.
Technical: The webinar will be hosted via Zoom, which allows a computer or phone connection.
