The Oklahoma Museums Association is happy to announce that Governor Mary Fallin issued an Executive Proclamation declaring May 17-23, 2015 as Museums Week! The proclamation can be viewed here.
Museums are powerful economic engines and play an essential role in the state’s educational infrastructure. Museums are also at the fabric of our communities, addressing challenges in such fields as healthcare, energy, poverty and more. We have produced a short infographic on Oklahoma Museums – Dollars & Sense, which can be viewed here.
OMA has contacted all Oklahoma House and Senate members who have museums in their districts. They were sent a list of museums in their district, and encouraged to visit the museums. We encourage ALL Oklahoma museums to reach out to their elected officials throughout the year, and especially during Museums Week!
