2019 Internship: Curatorial Department
Philbrook Museum of Art – Application Deadline: Applications received by December 7 receive priority

Internships at Philbrook Museum of Art will provide exposure, research, and some on-the-job training to art history graduate students (or upper level undergraduates upon the recommendation of art history department chairs or academic advisors) interested in pursuing museum-related fields. Interns will work closely with staff and museum resources to complete projects in their chosen area of interest. Suggested areas include: Native American or non-Western art; American art; photography, modern and contemporary art; European art; Western American art (Adkins Collection). Projects may include, but are not limited to: special exhibition preparation and research; permanent collection research and database management, provenance, label writing, and participation in gallery exhibition design/installations to be determined by department supervisors. Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply to this volunteer position.

Academic Year Internships are available: Hours are flexible, with a minimum of 14 hours a week (equivalent of 2 full days with block hours preferred) and up to 20 hours.

Applicants must be current graduate or undergraduate students in art history, museum studies, and American or Native American studies.  Good writing skills are critical and one or more foreign languages preferred.
