Job duties:
The Collections Assistant is an entry level, part time position that will report to the OKPOP Director of Collections and work under close supervision of the Collections Manager for day to day tasks. The Collections Assistant will provide general support for the cataloging, storage, and tracking of artifact and archival collections.

On a daily basis, and under the supervision of the Director of Collections and/or the Collections Manager, the Collections Assistant will be tasked with the documentation and cataloging of collections, including artifact research, cataloging, digitizing, and storage.

The Collections Assistant will work extensively in the collection management system and digital asset management system. Position includes supporting the Collections Manager in monitoring OKPOP storage and exhibition spaces using Integrated Pest Management policies.

-Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, art history, history, or related field preferred, but current students can also apply.
-Some cataloging, exhibit prep and installation, and artifact handling experience preferred.
-Knowledge of IPM standards and best practices
-Knowledge of AAM best practices 
-Computer experience required, and museum database experience, particularly PastPerfect preferred 
-Ability to multi-task, especially during the planning phases of the museum prior to opening
-Must be able to sit for long periods of time, type, bend and stoop, and lift up to 50lbs.
