Three Rivers Museum – Application Deadline: Open Until Filled

Position overview:
Responsible for providing vision, leadership, and oversight to the Three Rivers Museum, which is overseen by the Museum Board of directors.  Must be able to successfully lead long-term planning, set annual museum goals, lead exhibit planning, conduct fundraising, provide guidance on the collection.

The Creative Director co-manages the Museum with the Operations Manager. The Creative Directors position is focused on the collection, membership, collection acquisition and public events.

The creative Director will become the public face of the museum. Being comfortable at public functions, possessing an outgoing professional demeanor is imperative.

Position qualifications:

  • Advanced study in the field of museum operation, art, art history, Oklahoma history or other related field of study.
  • Experience in museum services or education preferred
  • Experience working in non-profit preferred
  • Skilled in working collaboratively with a wide range of personalities.

Position Requirements:

  • In addition to the hours of operation Wednesday – Saturday, time necessary to facilitate the goals of the creative Director the museum and its programs. This is a salaried position and should average approximately 40 hr. per week. Working evening hours to facilitate the programs provided by the Museum is a must.

Operations:

  • Manage and develop the collection and archives
  • Manages editorial and advertising content.
  • Take the lead in the acquisition of additional collections anticipated by the museum.
  • Ability to develop and present public programs
  • Ability to read, analyze, and manage departmental budgets.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs., stand for extended periods of time, and climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

 Programs:

  • Create annual program calendar, Coordinate and manage educational programs.
  • Maintain timely correspondence and communication.
  • Manage social media Museum web site, Facebook and other related activities.
  • Co-manage the volunteer program.
  • Responsible for development of program, and retention of membership. 
  • Attend local conferences to promote visitation and volunteers.
  • Duties otherwise assigned.
