Intern Duration
Summer, May-July, 2019 (flexible time frame). Flexible schedule will be discussed during interview.

The Decorative Arts and Design Internship at Philbrook Museum of Art will provide exposure and learning in research skills, art handling, object and decorative arts knowledge, and gain insight into the Curatorial processes. This internship requires ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational, written and oral communication skills are necessary. The Decorative Arts intern will research and document decorative art objects and archival materials that are in the Philbrook permanent collections and part of the Phillips family gifts.  The goal of this internship is to provide updated Museum records and contributions toward potential exhibitions of the objects. Philbrook encourages practical training which enhances the academic program.


  • Current undergraduate students working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Art History, History, or related field. 
  • Must have excellent organization skills, communication skills, strong research skills, and ability to handle documents, objects, and information with diligent attention.
  • Complete intern application, in-person interview, and background check required.

Availability Requirements
Hours and workdays are flexible, fulfilling up to 5 hours per week.  Intern schedule will be determined by the Associate Curator based on schedule availability.
