Science Museum Oklahoma – Application Deadline: Open until filled

The Exhibit Fabricator is responsible for fabricating science based exhibits and building projects within Science Museum Oklahoma. The primary responsibilities for an Exhibit Fabricator will be to work in a shop environment fabricating and installing exhibits in the public areas of the museum.Position Information

  • Full time position
  • Eligible for our generous leave, benefits and retirement package.
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with mechanical skills in a shop environment.
  • Preference may be given for a Technical Degree and Vocational Training or a combination of relevant education or experience.
  • Ability to work in public areas of the Museum and exhibit excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements
This position works in an active and busy museum setting. The position might also work in non-climate controlled areas of the museum such as the warehouse, machine shop and loading docks.

  • Work involves completing duties in dark, tight places and working off of a ladder.
  • Work involves frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Work may include pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.
  • This position may require the employee to drive for business purposes in either their own vehicle or a vehicle provided by the Museum. Employees that drive for business purposes must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check and provide proof of insurance and a valid license to drive on an annual basis.
