Exhibit Technician
Oklahoma Museum Network

The Exhibits Technician works with the OK Museum Network Exhibits Manager and partner museums to transport, install, maintain and repair exhibits and program components of the Oklahoma Museum Network. This position is responsible for coordinating with Oklahoma Museum Network staff and museum partners on exhibit maintenance, fabrication and logistics. Exhibits include all traveling exhibits, anchor exhibits and the Science Matters Mobile Museum.

Position Information

  • This position is a time limited grant position that may not be renewed after the end of the grant period.
  • Part time position
  • Work Hours: Open availability including some weekend and evening shifts required.
  • Travel: Travel within Oklahoma during work hours. No overnight travel required.

Minimum Requirements

  • One (1) or more years of mechanical work experience with electronics, carpentry, and metal working
  • Must have a knowledge of a broad variety of shop equipment including safe and productive operations and an understanding of shop etiquette and cleanliness
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preference may be given for a Technical Degree and Vocational Training or a combination of relevant education or experience
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirement of the position with or without accommodation

Physical Requirements
This position works in an active and busy museum setting.

  • This position may require crawling, crawling and climbing.
  • Work may include pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance and 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Some duties involve working outdoors in the varied Oklahoma climate extremes
