Grants Coordinator
Discovery Lab – Application Deadline: Open Until Filled

Discovery Lab has been igniting the curiosity of children since 2007, initially as a museum without walls. In May 2013, Discovery Lab opened after renovating the Owen Park Recreation Center. In early summer 2019, the museum will break ground on a 50,000-square-foot, world-class facility in A Gathering Place park that will be transformative for Tulsa’s children and families, and will respond to a compelling educational need in the community.

Inspired by best practices in informal learning, Discovery Lab offers an environment where fun and education meet hands-on. Multidisciplinary experiences and exhibits are designed to encourage process skill development and support current classroom curricula with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) and Health and Wellness content.

Discovery Lab is seeking an experienced Grants Coordinator to provide research, writing, and leadership for all programs and projects supported by grant funding. In addition, this position coordinates the museum’s Accessible Discovery (AD) Program in concert with the Education Program Manager, ensuring all grant deliverables are met, and tracking performance for reporting.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years experience in grant-writing and grant management with a track record of successful proposals
  • Solid writing ability
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising models and strategies, as well as an understanding of budgeting practices and financial documents
  • Strong, positive communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines and produce quality results within set timeframes.
  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft office programs including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure with flexibility

This is a full-time, hourly position—wage is commensurate with experience. Employees eligible for benefits will receive sick and paid time off earned on an accrual basis, six company paid holidays, four floating holidays, employer-sponsored health insurance and short-term disability, voluntary dental, vision, and life insurance, FSA health and dependent care reimbursement accounts, and a 401K option.

*Benefits are subject to the terms and conditions specified in the employee handbook, are subject to change, and plan terms.

Interested applicants should send the Discovery Lab employment application, resume, and cover letter to [email protected].
