Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum – Application Deadline: Open until filled

REPORTS TO: Director of Development
WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week based on availability
LOCATION(S): Gaylord-Pickens Museum and offsite as needed
COMPENSATION: $15.00 per hour

SUMMARY: To assist the Director of Development with marketing, fundraising, and event planning activities related to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and the Second Century Young Professionals Board.


  • Manage the organization’s website, updating pages in a timely manner, including writing content and designing graphics.
  • Create electronic newsletters utilizing the organization’s database – compile content; design layout; and generate accurate distribution reports.
  • Write articles for e-newsletters and blog posts, as well as Donor Spotlight articles for the organization’s published magazine.
  • Assist with creating annual fundraising and marketing campaigns via print and social media targeted at current, previous, and new donors/partners.
  • Assist with the creation of the print and electronic materials for purposes of fundraising and stewardship – write letters & emails; design pamphlets & brochures; and work with printshops to ensure accurate and timely printing.
  • Assist with managing the organization’s Second Century Young Professionals Board – prepare agendas, attend meetings and submit accurate meeting minutes; coordinate internal logistics for full board committee meetings; manage board recruitment process; and lead orientation of board members.
  • Assist with planning and implementing special events, including but not limited to: donor and stewardship receptions; outreach/networking events; and Oklahoma Born & Brewed, the annual fundraising event for the Second Century Board.
  • Liaison with external marketing and public relations consultants.
  • Assist with managing the annual marketing and monthly social media calendars.
  • Take photos and videos of programs in action for sharing on social media platforms.
  • Create videos and graphics to best show the impact of donor giving and inspire future giving.
  • Manage external advertising and marketing contracts to ensure full utilization of benefits.
  • Help maintain accurate records in the donor database; generate and update donor database reports on a regular basis.
  • Perform other tasks related to marketing and development based on the needs of the organization and the successful candidate’s interests, skills and experience.


  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or other related field; OR a college senior or graduate student preferably pursuing one of the above-mentioned disciplines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products.
  • Previous experience with Adobe Suite products and website management programs preferred.
  • Previous experience with database management preferred.
  • Must have strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Enthusiasm for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame’s mission to tell Oklahoma’s story through its people.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; must have visual acuity to read and draft reports, memorandums, and other printed matter, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee will work year-round in both an office environment and outdoors.  The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud; situations characteristic to working with school-age children are common; and travel to other sites within the metropolitan area are possible.
