Gilcrease Museum – Application Deadline: Open until filled

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Membership & Annual Giving Coordinator is responsible for generating approximately $450,000 in annual revenue for Gilcrease Museum and reports directly to the Senior Director of Development. The position serves as the primary point of contact for all membership inquiries, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a strategy to increase the number of museum members, migrating members to increased levels of support and developing innovative strategies to generate increased annual gifts to meet the needs of the changing museum.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
Development & Membership

  • Manages needs of approximately 3,000 museum members, including monthly membership renewal program, member upgrade efforts and manages membership benefits and fulfillment
  • Identifies, recruits, solicits and stewards individual donors/gifts up to $5,000; increases membership revenue by 10% annually
  • Develops strategies and coordinates appeals to acquire new members, including tactics for migrating members to higher levels and identifying donor interest areas
  • Develops and coordinates an integrated annual giving strategy via direct mail and electronic vehicles
  • Serves as clearinghouse for all member/donor/constituent inquiries, providing high-level customer service to individual, corporate and foundation donors at all levels
  • Develops and coordinates targeted events as they relate to annual donors, working in conjunction with staff in the design and delivery of related materials and execution of event details
  • Generates and formats fundraising reports, performs data queries to generate lists for donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship purposes
  • Works with volunteers in support of Gilcrease Museum Development efforts
  • Provides superior service to internal and external constituents
  • Performs other duties as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field; minimum 2 years of fundraising experience in a membership-based operation; superior marketing knowledge; excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrable creativity and analytical thinking skills, track record of successful work with individual donors, professional and courteous representation of Gilcrease Museum and managing partner, The University of Tulsa. Proficient in PC/Mac software application, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three to five years of fundraising experience for a museum, other membership-based organization or higher education is preferred. Knowledge of data base management/administration and familiarity with the Tessitura platform, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM system is beneficial.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical dexterity sufficient to use a keyboard and telephone; carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds; may be subject to extended periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, balancing, bending, kneeling, handling, climbing, and twisting; must have visual acuity, speech and hearing sufficient to perform responsibilities.

HOURS:
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasionally, working some evenings or weekends may be required.
