Financial Office Manager

Award-winning OKC Paseo District art gallery seeks an Operations Manager to work Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Candidate must be available to work Saturdays and occasional evenings.  The successful candidate will be customer focused, thrive in a hands-on team environment, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  Initiative, thoroughness. Demonstrate attention to detail are critical. Must have an appreciation of art, attention to detail, and thrive working in a small, hands-on team environment. The successful candidate will be a member of the gallery’s curatorial of the curatorial and marketing teams.

Job Requirements –

  • Gallery or museum experience preferred.
  • Experience in working with the public, artists (vendors), and media. Demonstrate working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and ability to create weekly, creative newsletters.
  • Ability to handle the scheduling, and maintenance of, gallery’s exhibition calendar for upcoming shows.
  • Have an adequate knowledge and working ability in excel spreadsheet functions in order to create report or analysis as necessary.
  • Ability to visually assess artwork and form working relationships with artists.
  • Ability to create checks, reconcile statements, enter sales and receipts, and otherwise maintain the accounting records of JRB Art at The Elms.
  • Exercise cash management in payables and receivables and function as “Keeper of the Purse.”
  • Be able to advise and report to the President details of financial activities as needed including financial statements and other reports a needed.
  • Must have a working knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting Software; and be able to quickly learn ArtSystems5.
    • QuickBooks – QuickBooks is an accounting software package developed and marketed by Intuit. QuickBooks products are geared mainly toward small and medium-sized businesses and offer on-premises accounting applications as well as cloud-based versions that accept business payments, manage, and pay bills, and payroll functions.
    • Artsystems5 – Art gallery software for inventory, integrated with gallery website.
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., approximately 35 hours a week.  Candidate must be available to work Saturdays and occasional evenings.
