Scholarship Program Specialist

We are looking for a high energy, detail-oriented teammate to join the largest independent scholarship program in Oklahoma. This interesting and rewarding full-time position is responsible for managing scholarship awarding processes, community engagement, donor stewardship, tracking student progress, event assistance, and various other duties to support the Scholarship Program team.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for processing scholarships from start to finish (steps include: managing the scholarship application process, setting up reviewers, notifying students of awards, entering student information into online database, communicating with donors, and coordinating award ceremonies with the students).
  • Oversees the outreach, recruitment, and training of volunteer application reviewers.
  • Create and present to external organizations and high schools on the history and scope of the Scholarship Programs department and steps on how to complete scholarship applications.
  • Attend college fairs, FAFSA events, and other events to promote scholarships.
  • Maintain accurate data in database management systems in a timely fashion.
  • Provide support and backup to the Scholarship Programs Director, as needed.
  • Establish policies and procedures and support & backup to the scholarship payment processes.
  • Assist with scholarship event coordination.
  • Provide general scholarship and donor services support, including other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong working knowledge of web-based programs and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Ability to balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a changing work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Must feel comfortable talking with donors, trustees, and scholarship committee members
  • Experience in college admissions and/or administering financial aid
  • Experience in nonprofit administration, college or career counseling, or higher education
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and minimal lifting of objects up to 20 lbs.
