This year, the Oklahoma Museums Association is encouraging attendance from ALL Oklahoma MUSEUMS at Oklahoma Arts Day at the Capitol in Oklahoma City on April 12. OMA will be there coordinating the museum sector on this important day. Staff, board members and volunteers of Oklahoma museums should plan to attend. The event is free to attend ($10 if you want lunch, must be ordered in advance) but preregistration is required. Register with Oklahomans for the Arts here. Once you register, please email OMA at info@okmuseums.org and let us know you will be attending so we can look for you that day.
You are encouraged to make an appointment with your legislators for April 12 and invite them to lunch on the second floor at 11:30am. Recently. OMA sent you the name and contact information for your state legislators, but if you need it again, please let us know and we will send it to you. You can also look it up here. Also, if you would like an OMA staff or board member to accompany you on the visit to your legislators, please let us know and we will coordinate schedules with you. You can use the following service provided compliments of Oklahomans for the Arts to ask your legislators for a meeting and/or invite them to the second floor for lunch.

There will be no organization table displays, instead the day will begin with advocacy training at 9am, followed by the kick-off at 10:30am and conclude with lunch and visits to your legislators. When arriving at the capitol, proceed to the second floor where you will see the familiar faces of OMA staff, board members and volunteers. OMA will have a sign on the second floor where all Oklahoma museums will gather for the kick-off and have museum information for you to share with your legislators.
The event is coordinated by Oklahomans for the Arts and they invite arts and culture supporters from across the state to join together at the State Capitol on April 12, 2017 to deliver a unified message to our Oklahoma Legislators:
