The Oklahoma Historical Records Advisory Board (OHRAB) announces two grant opportunities for Oklahoma archives and historical collections.

Funding is through the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries will administer the grants.

Deadline to apply for these opportunities is Friday, November 2.

The Improving Access to Collections Program will award grants of up to $3,000 to help libraries, museums, historical societies, archival repositories, cultural organizations, town and county records offices, and colleges and universities improve their ability to provide online access to their significant archival collections. Download additional information and the application form.

The Oklahoma Collections Assessment Plans (OCAP) Program is available for organizations with annual budgets of $50,000 or less. OCAP's purpose is to encourage best practices in the preservation of, and access to, archival collections that are important to preserving Oklahoma history by ensuring that collecting organizations have written Collections Assessment Plans that help prioritize collections care activities. This opportunity provides assistance in conducting an organizational and collections self-assessment, the services of a preservation consultant to help staff develop a written plan, and registration fee waivers for workshops sponsored by OHRAB and its partners. Download additional information and the application form.
