Audience Focus provides a range of services including strategic and interpretive planning, professional development in evaluation and evaluative thinking, concept development, grant proposal and logic model development, audience research, exhibition and program evaluation, and basic and applied research.

What: Audience Focus, an independent research organization, is seeking a local data collector to assist with conducting interviews and gathering surveys for the development of Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s (OKCMOA) Family Space beginning summer of 2024 and wrapping up in January of 2025.

When: Data collection will in three different time periods that correspond with different testing phases:
• Phase 1 Testing: Between late-June and August 2024
• Phase 2 Testing: Between September and October 2024
• Phase 3 Testing: Between December 2024 and January 2025

A total of 175 hours of data collection across these three time periods is anticipated. Specific dates/times are somewhat flexible. A final data collection schedule will be created that considers multiple factors, including the locations of data collection sites, times when families are available to participate in the study, and data collector’s schedule.

Compensation: $25/hour including hours spent in training with Audience Focus researchers.

Tasks: The data collector will conduct in-person, semi-structured interviews with family groups at the museum and community sites such as libraries, markets, and community events, distribute and collect written surveys, and assist Audience Focus researchers with data management as needed. Audience Focus researchers will train the data collector during a site visit on (dates) so the data collector needs to be available during those days.

Skills Needed: The data collector needs to have strong communication and organizational skills, be willing to work some weekends, have access to a computer to enter data, and be able to work on-site at OKCMOA and various community sites.
Some background or graduate work in social sciences, counseling, education, museum studies, and/or history or previous experience conducting interviews or administering surveys is required. Some experience working with children or families is desired.
